I was part of the MCI training in 2018 in preparation for medium term missions to Thailand.  I moved to the Rock House where I was mentored by Femi & Maria Oni into a life of missions and in discipling a young lady.

Following my training I was sent out to Thailand for 6 months where I was immersed in the culture, learning Thai in language school & working with a local church teaching conversational English to young adults.  Whilst there I went through several challenges which included being sick for 1 month with shingles and also leaving 2 months early after the Covid pandemic caused international lockdowns in March 2020.

After I returned to the UK, I moved into a new leadership role within my organisation, and started the Joshua Transit Internship, where – amongst other things – I worked on a Thesis comparing domestic abuse in Thai culture with the UK.

The MCI training for me was more about practically learning how to be a missionary rather than receiving head knowledge, and I was given many opportunities to learn new skills along the way.  Learning what it means to live by faith was a huge part of that and Femi & Maria modelled that life to me daily.  I would thoroughly recommend MCI as it is a programme tailored to each individual rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.
